A mechanical-style clock wallpaper decoration for macOS, rendered entirely in Metal shaders
ChronoMetrics is a GPU-rendered analog clock wallpaper decoration inspired by Swiss Haute Horlogerie. Every element — the dial, hands, bezels, mechanisms — is mathematically computed using signed distance functions. No textures, no images. Pure geometry and real-time lighting.
Four animated complications display live system metrics through mechanical watchmaking mechanisms: a tourbillon, a mainspring barrel, a Geneva drive, and a bimetallic balance wheel.
A rotating cage with balance wheel and Breguet hairspring. Oscillation amplitude rises with CPU load.
A mainspring barrel in blue steel. The coil unwinds as memory fills, like a depleting power reserve.
A Geneva drive (Maltese cross) that indexes faster with network throughput, like a film projector.
A bimetallic compensation balance. The arcs expand and shift from silver to copper as temperature rises.
